CORIOLANUS READING

The Santa Fe Shakespeare Society Readers will be reading Coriolanus the next two Wednesdays, January 22 and January 29, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. here at the library.

The London National Theatre's production of  "Coriolanus" will be shown by delayed HD broadcast at The Lensic Performing Arts Center in late January.  The Wednesday afternoon readings will be a wonderful opportunity to gain familiarity with the play and discuss it so that you will be able to appreciate the film more deeply.

"Coriolanus and his mother Volumnia" by Angelica Kauffmann, 1765.
The picture depicts a moment in Act V, Scene iii, in the tent of Coriolanus. His wife Virgilia, his mother Volumnia, his son Marcius, and Valeria enter the scene and come to his tent to plead with him to spare the city.           (Image in public domain.)

There will be two readings of the play, out loud, at Santa Fe University of Art and Design's Fogelson Library in the the Southwest Room: Wednesdays January 22 and January 29, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.  Come one, come all!

"Coriolanus," will be broadcast in HD on Friday, January 31, 7:00 pm at the Lensic  in downtown Santa Fe.  For more information on the broadcast, contact the Lensic.
